Australia is a mammoth of a country with vast sprawling deserts and huge spaces between points of interest. There is a lot to see in Australia and one could spend a lifetime without seeing it all. Most of us do not have that opportunity – so a visit to Australia will take some serious planning and preparation beyond the necessary visa and flight arrangements.

This guide will not provide you with a solution to visiting Australia, but it will aim to point you in the right direction so that you may discover the beauty that this country has to offer. It will focus on the East Coast which is the more affluent and more frequently visited coast of Australia. This journey will take you through 3 states and would take between one and two months to complete.

  1. Queensland is the best place to start your journey of Australia. The state has vast amounts to offer to a tourist with both the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast awaiting you. Every year millions of tourists visit the Sunshine State which is most famous for its surfing and the Great Barrier Reef, which is one of a kind in the world. Brisbane is a must visit location because of its impressive architecture and rich history. Along the coast of Queensland, there is everything from natural beauty to man-made water sports and major cities.
  2. Sydney in the state of New South Wales is one of the major attractions that Australia has to offer. It is worth settling down in a serviced apartment in Sydney for at least a week because there is so much to do. Sydney is home to Taronga Zoo, Manly Beach, the Sydney Opera House, and the Harbour Bridge to name but a few attractions. Visiting all of these attractions and many more is essential to any trip to Sydney. New South Wales also boasts the 2000 Olympic Park and the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains, both of which are amazing sights to behold. The Blue Mountains are an expansive mountain range which is home to 7 national heritage parks and even caves with Aboriginal Art inside.
  3. The state of Victoria contains one of the greatest war memorials on earth. The Great Ocean Road was built by soldiers who returned from World War I and stretches along 243 kilometres of one of the most impressive coastlines in the world. It is worth visiting Victoria just to join a Great Ocean Road Tour because it will take you to some of the most impressive places in the country. The tours will take you past the famous Twelve Apostles which are limestone stacks carved out of the land by waves over generations. Whilst in Victoria you cannot miss out on the shopping opportunities afforded by the Melbourne metropolis to end your holiday on a high.

The above is merely a scratch on the surface of Australia but it would be a fantastic holiday without a doubt. Travelling around Australia is a difficult task and this journey from Queensland through to Victoria is roughly a 2,500 kilometre journey when you follow the coastline, which is by far the most beautiful route.
