If you are looking to purchase an RV you will want to make sure that it has a mobile video system that was made specifically for an RV installed in it? Maybe your favorite pastime is camping and you would like to purchase a new video system but just don’t have the money. So you start looking in the paper and on Craig’s list for a used one.

Some of the new RV’s will come equipped with the greatest and latest mobile video systems; however you might want to check out some mobile video systems for an RV that comes in a kit that you can install yourself if you are handy.  This option will let you save money while still getting a high quality system.

Just what exactly do you need?  More importantly what do you want? Here are a few tips.

A mobile video set up requires two things.  First you need a video monitor, a good PC monitor will do the trick, that you can look at movies or TV with.  You will also need a car DVD or car video player. You will also need an audio component for example a headphone that could be wireless. As mentioned earlier some of the systems come in a kit so check out and see if it would be more economical to purchase everything in one box or purchasing everything separately.  Some kits come with rather low quality grade equipment because it will be cheaper.  However, if you like to watch movies with a quality picture, buying the pieces separately may be the way to go for you.  If you plan on shooting high quality video of your trips then a good high definition camcorder is something that you should also be thinking about.

A question you may ask yourself is do you want it in the front area of the RV or in the back?  There are systems also that can cross over, so again do your homework. If your system is in the front seat, typically they are installed in the dash board.  If it is in the backseat, you will have to decide where you want your monitor. There are some (really!) that can be installed in the back of the head rests.  These headrest monitors are of high quality and deliver an excellent picture.

Many RV’s have video systems that will come equipped with a back up camera so that you can see the blind spots that are behind you.  They also allow for ease of spotting obstacles and hazards that you might normally be able to see.  For security purposes some video systems will transmit a signal when some unusual event takes place in the RV when you are not there.  You can also feed something as small as a spy pen into the system so that you can see all angles from anywhere inside or out.

To be truly mobile you will need to be able to remove part of the system and take it with you to the beach, on hiking excursions, or just out to the picnic table.  This is where the new breed of battery chargers will come in handy.  They will keep you mobile device charged up no matter where you decide on using them.

As you can see you have options worth investigating.  And it is very worthwhile to do your homework so you will be satisfied with your new system. And make sure it is easy to install if you do it yourself. Whichever way you go a mobile video for an RV can provide rich full entertainment for you on the road and off.
Happy Camping!
