Sport Car Insurance is going to more expensive than most other car insurance policies.  Whether you like it or not insurance companies figure that you didn’t buy a sports car to drive like an old lady.  They are assuming that you are going to speed, drive like a maniac, and cost them lots of money when you screw up.

The thing is they have the facts and history to back them up.  Most people who own sports cars tend to get more speeding tickets and get in more accidents than the average person.  So if you think that your premium is going to cost the same as a 1960’s Volkswagen Van insurance policy, you are in for quite a surprise.

Cheap van insurance is for kids and Dead Heads who don’t mind driving 50 mph down the freeways while torching  up on a stogy.  Sport car insurance quotes will reflect your need for speed and your ability to pay the big bucks.  After all sports cars aren’t cheap to repair after a fender bender.

Cheaper car insurance can be had if you are willing to drive a fake sports car.  You know the type of car that looks fast but really only has a small 4 cylinder engine in it.  Drive one of those and you can have your cheap sport car insurance.

In all reality inexpensive car insurance is a thing of the past.
The insurance companies have to make sure that if you get in an accident that they have the money available to pay for any liability claims and the cost of repairs.  With all of the ambulance chasing lawyers advertising on TV and the high cost of body work, sports car insurance can’t be cheap.  Who is going to pay for the lawyers kids to go to astronaut camp?

Instant car insurance can be had over the internet.  But don’t be surprised if the low quote and rate you are given suddenly and dramatically changes once a real person starts checking the information you provided.  A ticket during the past 3 years, or worse an accident will jack up your rates considerably.  And if you think that insurance, sport car and cheap go together if you ever had a speeding ticket, I have a some swamp land in Arizona to sell to you.

The bottom line is this:  If the cost of sport car insurance is going to be a big deal to you then don’t buy a car like that.  Sport car insurance is like the cost of the car, “If you have to ask the price then you can’t afford it.”
